During the
talks, the important role of JICA as one of Uzbekistan's strategic partners in
the implementation of projects in the fields of energy, transport, agriculture,
healthcare, education and infrastructure was emphasized.
It was
noted that a long-term program is currently being worked out jointly with JICA,
which includes 17 promising projects with a total value of 2.9 billion dollars.
The parties
also discussed the development of free economic zones, the implementation of
the "One Village - One Product" initiative, the preparation of new
agreements for the V Tashkent International Investment Forum, as well as
cooperation in the field of STEM education, including the creation of
laboratories jointly with Japanese universities.
Laziz
Kudratov expressed gratitude to Bito Yoshibumi for his contribution to
strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, and also
congratulated Mamoru Sakai on his appointment as head of the JICA
Representative Office in Uzbekistan.
