Following the event, on June 2, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting between Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and the head of the Chinese delegation, Deputy Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference of China, Chairman of the Chinese Committee on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation within the SCO from China Shen Yueyue.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shen Yueyue conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the CPPCC Wang Huning to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that today cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership, which is facilitated by strong friendship and personal understanding between the leaders of the two states.
The Chinese side reaffirmed its support for Uzbekistan's sovereignty, territorial integrity and policy aimed at protecting national interests.
Uzbekistan is recognized as an important trade and economic partner of China in Central Asia. There are over 3,700 joint ventures with Chinese capital operating in the republic. Major projects are being implemented in the fields of infrastructure, industrial cooperation, agriculture and green energy.
The visa-free regime, which entered into force on June 1, will help strengthen business ties and increase the tourist flow. It was also stressed that the agreements and contracts signed following the results of the inter-regional forum in Samarkand will give an additional impetus to bilateral relations.
The parties discussed in detail ways to expand cooperation in trade, transport, logistics, industry, culture, humanitarian and scientific fields.
