According to the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, the supply of Russian "blue fuel" within the framework of a long-term partnership will help cover part of the gas shortage in the autumn-winter period, taking into account the growth of the economy, population and demand for energy resources in Uzbekistan.
"As part of our President's official visit to Russia, Gazprom and I have started negotiations on medium- and long-term gas supply contracts," Mirzamakhmudov said.
In June, the Government of Uzbekistan and Gazprom signed an agreement on the supply of Russian gas to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as a roadmap for preparing the gas transmission system for acceptance and transportation of fuel. The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan later reported that the agreement was concluded for two years, the volume of supplies will be 9 million cubic meters per day, the annual volume will be about 2.8 billion cubic meters.
