It was established that a resident of the city of Bukhara, born in 1998, and a resident of the Bukhara region, born in 1984, had previously conspired to sell 343 grams of mercury packaged in three vials for 35 thousand US dollars. The deal was stopped, and the suspects were detained with physical evidence.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainees under part 2 of Article 185-1 ("Illegal trafficking of potent or poisonous substances") The Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are ongoing.

Law enforcement agencies remind citizens that the sale, purchase, storage and use of mercury and its compounds in domestic conditions are prohibited. Mercury belongs to substances with high toxicity, and its free circulation on the territory of the country is not allowed.
