According to available data, a total of 3,000 tons of watermelons have been exported abroad to date. At the same time, ripe products are steadily supplied to the domestic market. This, of course, is a great merit of the farmers and dehkans of Kashkadarya, especially the Kukdalin district.
Kashkadarya watermelons are in high demand in the domestic and foreign markets due to their sweetness, natural composition and early ripeness. A significant increase in export volumes was made possible by systematic work on fast and high-quality sorting, packaging, logistics and preparation of products for export.
Today, watermelons are mainly exported to countries such as Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates. The early maturity of products significantly increases their competitiveness in these markets.
In order to increase the export potential in the agricultural sector, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, as well as local khokimiyats, provide entrepreneurs with systematic support in logistics, veterinary and phytosanitary inspections, and registration of export documents.
It should be recalled that in 2024, it was planned to increase exports by expanding the planting of export-oriented watermelon varieties, efficient land use and widespread introduction of modern agricultural technologies. The practical results show that the work carried out in this direction in Kashkadarya is already yielding good results.
