The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Energy of the participating countries, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of sustainable development of the energy sector were discussed. Against the background of continuing instability in international energy markets, the importance of deepening partnership was emphasized, including on energy security, protecting critical infrastructure, promoting investment cooperation and ensuring a fair energy transition as a key condition for the sustainable development of regional energy.
In addition, an agreement was reached to continue work on the draft roadmap for the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Energy Cooperation between the SCO member states for the period up to 2030.
During the meeting, the draft Joint Statement of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States on Sustainable Energy Development was approved.
The next meeting of the energy ministers of the SCO member states will be held in 2026 in Kyrgyzstan.
