The purpose of the meeting is to increase the flow of foreign tourists to our country, expand the volume and geography of exports of products produced in Uzbekistan to the markets of Oman and the Persian Gulf countries.
The participants of the negotiations were informed in detail about the development of the tourism services market in our country, new facilities being built and put into operation, as well as measures taken to further attract foreign air carriers to the airports of Uzbekistan.
In particular, representatives of Salam Air were provided with information about the commissioning of a new international airport in Samarkand, the facilities created there, including the "open sky" mode from October 1 of this year.
According to Mazin Salmani, Uzbekistan has every chance to become an important transport hub of Central Asia. For this reason, he said that the airline "Salam Air" is considering the issue of performing first charter and then permanent flights (approximately from November of this year) on the route "Muscat - Tashkent".
The interlocutor noted that at the moment all conditions have been created for flights, and the agreement between the two countries on the establishment of direct flights that has entered into force serves as a legal basis.
It should be noted that the intergovernmental Agreement on air Traffic entered into force on May 11, 2020. According to the agreements, the airline "Salam Air" is an air carrier from Oman, according to the news agency "Dunyo”.
In this regard, Mazin al-Salmani expressed readiness to hold online negotiations with the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and other responsible organizations and leading travel companies of the republic to discuss issues of quality passenger service and prospects for further cooperation.
