On March 11 this year, on the eve of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev to the French Republic, a French-Uzbek business forum was held in Paris with the participation of heads of relevant ministries, departments and heads of about one hundred leading companies, financial and business organizations of the two countries.

Addressing the participants, Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, appreciated the importance of the business forum as a unique dialogue platform for strengthening partnerships and exploring new opportunities to enhance bilateral economic cooperation.

The stable dynamics of trade, economic and investment cooperation was emphasized. Thus, in 2024, the trade turnover between the two countries reached 1.1 billion US dollars, which is 14% more than a year earlier. At the same time, exports from Uzbekistan to France almost doubled, amounting to 800 million, while imports amounted to 330 million dollars.

Today, more than 50 French companies are successfully operating in Uzbekistan, contributing to a dynamic and rapidly developing business environment.

Among the companies represented in Uzbekistan, bringing their experience to the fields of energy, infrastructure, environmental services, aviation, food production and tourism, there are such world-famous companies as Orano, SUEZ, Veolia, Total Energies, Voltalia, EDF, Lactalis, Airbus, MND and many others.

Focusing on the large untapped opportunities for deepening cooperation, Laziz Kudratov outlined a number of vectors for further cooperation, including the development of transport and logistics connectivity, diversification of trade corridors and exploration, as well as innovative development through the introduction of French technologies adapted to the needs of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, a deep commitment was expressed to support new joint initiatives that meet the interests of investors and are aimed at qualitative transformation and increasing the sustainability of the country's economy.

In turn, Claude Imoven, Chairman of MEDEF International and Chairman of the Management Board of Orano, who spoke at the forum, highly appreciated the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan and called on representatives of French business to actively promote themselves in the Uzbek market.

Within the framework of the forum, B2B and G2B meetings were held, which provided the business circles of the two countries with unique opportunities to communicate and explore new areas of cooperation.

Following the results of the forum, a solid package of more than 20 agreements and contracts was signed, defining the further development of cooperation and the implementation of projects in the fields of agriculture, energy, green economy, urban development, water supply and transport, mining, healthcare, education and other areas.
