At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the upper chamber of our country congratulated the diplomat on assuming office and expressed confidence that he would contribute to the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Canada at a new level.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is currently pursuing a foreign policy consistent with the principles of activism and openness with reputable countries of Central Asia and the world. Thanks to the pragmatic policy of President Sh. Mirziyoyev, the number of close partners of the country is growing on a global scale and its authority is increasing.
Since the establishment of Uzbek-Canadian cooperation, a number of positive results have been achieved in bilateral relations, and trade and economic cooperation is developing. Currently, more than 40 joint projects are being implemented in the two countries. Of these, 10 are accounted for by Canada.
But there is still a lot of unrealized potential and opportunities. It was noted that their involvement would contribute to the further development of multifaceted relations between the two states. These areas include investment, science and education, and tourism.
- For example, in Uzbekistan, which has a population of almost 38 million people, 600,000 young people enter the labor market every year. In Canada, it is also important to use the workforce effectively. Therefore, if the mutual exchange of experience in youth employment is introduced, then it will be possible to develop relations at a new level," said the Chairman of the Senate.
During the conversation, attention was also drawn to the possibility of further strengthening friendly ties between the twin cities of the two countries and achieving high results in trade and economic cooperation by attracting investments. The need to join forces in preserving the green world, which is of concern to all mankind today, was emphasized.
The parties noted the importance of consistently continuing inter-parliamentary ties by increasing the activity of friendship groups for cooperation. It was emphasized that the parties are interested in developing specific target plans and working together in the field of legislation, ensuring human rights and interests.
