The territory of the Chirakchi district is 2.8 thousand square kilometers. There are about half a million residents, there are 2,137 enterprises, 324 of them are industrial, there are 230 preschool educational organizations, 234 schools and eight family polyclinics.
During the meeting of the Head of State with the voters of Kashkadarya region in 2021, a proposal was made to create the Kukdalinsky district. Based on this, 171 thousand hectares of land are transferred from Chirakchinsky to Kugalinsky district, 176.3 thousand people will live on the territory of the newly formed district.
According to the changes, 162 industrial enterprises, one small industrial zone will also be transferred to the new district, gardens and vineyards are planned to be created on ten thousand hectares of arable land based on drip irrigation technology, the information service of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
