The guests of the event were waiting for performances, interactive workshops, games and an exhibition of local sustainable brands.

At the opening of EcoDay, the rector of the University Konrad Ozog and Komola Asimova, lecturer, head of the Career Center and Corporate Relations of the British University of Management in Tashkent, delivered a welcoming speech.

"As a university, we consider it necessary to support the sustainable development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This year we held a competition of sustainable projects among Tashkent schoolchildren, in which environmental initiatives took a special place. In the upcoming academic year, we plan to scale it up so that even more students will pay attention to these problems and think about their solution. In addition, we have launched a new faculty of Economics and Sustainable Development, where teachers with international experience will train specialists in this field. Today's Eco Day is the start of a series of events dedicated to ecology, one of the most important aspects of sustainable development. At future events, we will focus on other goals, which, of course, cannot remain without our attention," Konrad Ozog said.

As part of the event, the young guests, together with the author of the series of books "Time of Heroes" Madina Muminova, took part in an immersive performance and together with the writer read a book about environmental problems "Dr. Chikhakhl and his terrible secret".

Adult participants attended a master class from Sherzod Kattakhodjayev, project manager of the United Nations Development Program, where he spoke about ways to minimize the carbon footprint in the construction of buildings with almost zero energy consumption and a lecture on the relationship between psychology and climate change from Gulnara Bogdalova, a psychologist at the British University of Management in Tashkent.

At the end of the Eco-Day program, an interactive master class was held from eco-activist Motabar Khushvaktova, who shared her thoughts on how to be eco-friendly every day.
