As the Report reports with reference to the Mehr agency, this was stated at a press conference by the head of the Regional Water Company of East Azerbaijan, Yusif Gafarzade.
According to him, the average consumption of drinking water in the region reaches 12 thousand liters per second, and during peak hours this figure exceeds 13 thousand liters.
He noted that the annual consumption of drinking water already amounts to 380 million cubic meters, which is a large figure that requires serious management. 90 million cubic meters of water are consumed in rural areas.
Ghafarzade said that five cities in the province are currently in red status (crisis status), and nine cities are approaching the threshold of crisis. Tabriz is also one of these crisis cities.
