In Uzbekistan, 70 percent of proposals to amend the Constitution came from young people

    The press service of the Constitutional Commission held a briefing at the end of last week, at which information was provided on citizens' proposals for amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    As of June 11, 20,148 proposals had been received. Most of them were accepted through the platform "meningkonstitutionsiyam.uz ". Of the proposals, 11,306 were submitted by men and 6,422 by women. 2420 were sent anonymously.

    Statistics show that more than 70 percent of the offers came from young people under the age of 30. Residents of Tashkent, Andijan, Ferghana, Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions were more active than in other regions.

    The proposals were widely discussed with the participation of scientists and specialists and brought to the norm. Most of them are issues related to human rights, guarantees of these rights, the institution of the family, the judicial system and others.

    On May 20, a Constitutional commission was formed to amend the Constitution of Uzbekistan and implement organizational measures, its composition and tasks were determined.

    At the first meeting of the Constitutional Commission on May 26, the mechanism for working with citizens' proposals was announced.
