This was announced by Malika Kadirkhanova, a member of the Senate Committee on Youth, Women, Culture and Sports, sending a senatorial request to the chairman of the Committee on Family and Women, Zulaikho Makhkamova.
According to the senator, despite the laws and measures adopted, the number of such incidents continues to grow. The most cases were recorded in the Tashkent region (9,414), Bukhara (5,612), Kashkadarya (5,268) and Andijan (4,808) regions. During the reporting period, 930 women received repeated protection orders.
In her request, Kadirkhanova asked to clarify what measures are being taken by the Committee and its divisions to identify the causes of the increase in cases of harassment and violence, strengthen preventive work, expand interaction with authorized bodies and create an atmosphere of intolerance towards such offenses in the mahallas.
