As the country develops and its international standing strengthens, connections with the outside world are becoming increasingly active. In this context, consistent measures are being taken to develop the transport infrastructure comprehensively.
One such strategic project was the business aviation complex at the Tashkent-East airfield. Construction began in 2017. Despite the pandemic and subsequent challenges, this large-scale project has now been completed.
The total area of the airport is 561 hectares. The 4-kilometer runway and three taxiways were fully reconstructed, enabling the reception of even the heaviest aircraft. An apron for 20 aircraft has been built. Modern hangars have been constructed to ensure the safe and optimal storage of Boeing 787s, A320s, business jets, and helicopters.
The airport includes VIP and CIP terminals. The hall for high-level guests provides all necessary facilities for official meetings, negotiations, and briefings. The CIP terminal, designed to accommodate 100 passengers per hour, will feature shops and dining areas.
Of particular importance is that the airport is being equipped with state-of-the-art radio engineering and meteorological systems of ICAO Category III-A. This will enable safe takeoffs and landings even in challenging weather conditions.
Thanks to its convenient location, the new airport will become an important transport hub for the capital and New Tashkent. Opportunities for hosting international visits and business trips will expand, conditions for foreign investors will improve, and as a result, economic activity will increase, the services sector will gain momentum, and new jobs will be created.
The Head of State also spoke on site with representatives of the public and the older generation.
“After lengthy preparations, we have built a new airport that will provide a high level of service for guests of our country. This will also help reduce the load on Tashkent International Airport. A large complex is also planned for construction at another location. Overall, large-scale projects are being implemented in all regions. May these new facilities strengthen our well-being and serve the people, and may peace always prevail in our country”, the President noted.
