According to the press service of the Migration Agency, the negotiations involved the head of the agency Bekhzod Musaev, the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, the Minister of Agriculture of Italy Francesco Lollobrigida, and the Vice President of the Confagricoltura organization Luca Brondelli.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Migration Agency and Italy's Associazione Imprese Ortofrutticole (Association of Fruit and Vegetable Enterprises).
According to the agreement, Uzbekistanis will be recruited for seasonal work in Italy lasting from 3 to 9 months.
The president of the association, Marco Salvi, announced that they are ready to provide employment for 100 Uzbekistanis this year as part of a pilot project.
For information, this association unites more than 35 large companies in the fruit and vegetable sector in Italy. It covers the entire agro-industrial chain, from farming to processing, logistics, and export. Its main products include apples, kiwis, pomegranates, and strawberries.
