Uzbekistan and France discussed new investment projects and expansion of economic cooperation

On July 9, Tashkent hosted an Uzbek-French round table with the participation of Laziz Kudratov, Head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Sherzod Ozodzoda, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Behzod Normatov, Adviser to the President on Fuel and Energy Issues, and Claude Imoven, Chairman of the France-Uzbekistan Business Council of MEDEF International. The event brought together heads of departments and 17 French companies.

MEDEF International is one of the key platforms for French business to promote international trade, technological cooperation and long–term investment ties in foreign markets.

It was noted at the meeting that relations between Uzbekistan and France have reached the level of strategic partnership. In 2025, the trade turnover reached $1.4 billion, and in January-May 2026 it amounted to $775 million (an increase of 150%).

The parties discussed the expansion of practical cooperation. Among the current areas are projects with EDF in the energy sector for $ 2 billion, an industrial project with Orano in the Navoi region for $ 600 million, as well as Voltalia initiatives in the field of solar and wind energy for $ 325 million.
