The first scheduled flight of LOT Polish Airlines to Tashkent took off from Warsaw Airport on March 13 at 22:55. In the capital of Uzbekistan, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft of Polish airlines LOT landed at 09:00 local time (05:00 Polish time). The flight time was 6 hours.

The opening ceremony of the new flight service at Tashkent International Airport was attended by Director of the airport Jasur Pulatov, CEO of Polish Airlines Michal Fiyol, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev, Ambassador of Poland to Uzbekistan Radoslav Gruk, representatives of the Ministries of Transport and Culture and the Committee of Tourism of Uzbekistan, as well as journalists and bloggers from both countries.

"Today, another LOT Polish Airlines destination is opening - to Tashkent. Uzbekistan is one of the most intriguing countries in the world, which has a lot to offer passengers from Poland and Europe. I am convinced that the opportunity to reach the heart of Central Asia comfortably on board our aircraft will create the potential for further development of tourism and economic cooperation between Poland and Uzbekistan. We have also opened this direction taking into account the interests of the citizens of Uzbekistan. From Warsaw Airport named after F.Chopin, which is a convenient transit point, passengers from Tashkent can reach almost 80 cities in Europe or North America available on our route network," Michal Filyol, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, said during the opening ceremony.

"The opening of flights between Warsaw and Tashkent is an important step for us to establish air links with Europe. After the pandemic, LOT Polish Airlines became the first European airline to open flights to European cities for Uzbeks and to Uzbek cities for Europeans. And we consider this not just as a cooperation between the airline and the airport – the air service will open a new chapter in the development of tourism on both sides. I hope that during the two-day stay, guests from Poland, including well-known journalists, bloggers and tour operators, will discover Uzbekistan and tell about it on the pages of their publications, on the airwaves of TV channels and social networks," added Javlonbek Umarkhodjaev, head of Uzbekistan Airports.

It is planned that flights in the Tashkent - Warsaw - Tashkent direction will be carried out three times a week - on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

In April and May, the Polish airline announced plans to operate an additional flight on this route on Tuesdays with a planned return to Warsaw on Wednesdays. Tickets are available on the airline's official website lot.com, as well as in ticket offices and travel agencies.
