A new level of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and the development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations was again demonstrated during the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the SCO summit in Samarkand.

Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, amid the intensification of political and economic ties, also continue to actively work to expand the geography of flights between the countries.

Thus, since the beginning of October, Azerbaijan's national air carrier AZAL plans to operate flights to another city of Uzbekistan - Samarkand, which will be operated twice a week - on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Also, Azerbaijan Airlines will increase the frequency of flights operated on the Baku- Tashkent - Baku route up to 5 times a week.

Currently, regular flights between the two capitals are carried out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will soon also be operated on Thursdays and Sundays.
