On August 20, a meeting with the President took place in Nukus, where the founder of the textile company Artex Group and the main shareholder of InfinBANK, Farkhod Mamatjanov, announced the launch of a new mobile operator.

"You have given instructions to attract global brands to Uzbekistan. Together with the leading British company Vodafone, we have launched a project to launch a mobile operator with 5G Standalone network support," the founder said.

He noted that Perfectum was privatized to implement this project. This is reported by Kapital.uz with reference to O'zbekiston 24.

"We realized that in order to ensure high-quality Internet, especially at the local level, it is important to reach end users. In partnership with Uzcard, we have started work on the launch of Vodafone and hope that this will happen next year," Mamatjanov added.

The Finnish company Nokia, which will supply equipment and technology, is also involved in the project, and installation work has already begun.

The founder shared that the total investment in the project is 250 million euros. Of these, 100 million euros were raised through the Finnish Export Agency and Uzpromstroybank, and the remaining 150 million euros are invested by the founders.

"Until now, mobile operators in Uzbekistan have only been foreign or state-owned companies. Now we are creating the first national operator," he stressed.

For reference: Vodafone is the leading telecommunications company in the UK, which provides mobile and Internet services in more than 30 countries, serving about 400 million users worldwide.
