The delegation of Uzbekistan held talks in Jordan on the expansion of investment and trade cooperation

    On August 11, 2025, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a series of meetings as part of an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

    The negotiations began with a meeting with Jordan's Minister of Investment, Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazale. The parties discussed the prospects for expanding investment cooperation, exchanged experiences in attracting foreign direct investment and creating a favorable business climate.

    Then negotiations took place with Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Kudah. The issues of increasing trade turnover, establishing direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, industrial cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of export support were considered. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a Preferential trade agreement between Uzbekistan and Jordan.

    During the visit, meetings were also held with Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ammar Izziddin, CEO of the King Hussein Business Park, Fathi Jagbir, Chairman of the Jordanian Chamber of Industry, and heads of the country's leading companies, including National Arab Mining Company, Zarhat Company, Arab Pesticides and Veterinary Drugs Manufacturing Company, Jordan Phosphate Mines Company, Grow Tech and Classic Fashion Apparel Industry.

    The key event of the day was a round table with the participation of the leadership of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and more than 20 local companies representing pharmaceutical, chemical, textile, electrical engineering, food and other industries. The Jordanian business was familiarized with the investment climate and promising projects in Uzbekistan. Following the discussions, specific areas and projects for joint work were agreed upon.
