Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan meets with the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia

    Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid Al-Falih, in Riyadh.

    According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the parties discussed the current issues of bilateral investment, trade and economic cooperation, as well as the implementation of the agreements reached following the visit of the government delegation of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan, held in January this year.

    The prospects for the implementation of new joint projects in energy, agriculture, chemical industry, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, tourism, transport and logistics were considered.

    The main attention was paid to the opportunities for attracting additional investment in Uzbekistan’s energy and energy infrastructure development.

    The foreign side emphasized the interest of large Saudi Arabian companies in Uzbekistan as a country with high economic and investment potential and expressed readiness for close cooperation to attract investments to the implementation of additional projects.

    Issues of increasing mutual tourist flows through the establishment of regular direct passenger flights between the two countries were also considered, inform UzA.
