As part of
the work carried out, 11 citizens who did not have temporary housing were
accommodated in hostels. Another 13 compatriots who faced financial
difficulties have purchased air tickets to return to their homeland, the Dunyo
news agency reports.
Special
attention is paid to the protection of migrants' rights. In particular,
passports illegally held by unscrupulous employers were returned from 34 Uzbek
citizens.
In
addition, hospitalization was provided to one citizen who needed urgent medical
care, while all treatment costs were fully covered by the state.
The staff
of the Consulate General held online meetings with 221 Uzbek citizens held in
temporary facilities in the territory of the consular district. As a result of
the appeals, the necessary documents were issued for their return to their
homeland.
In order to
provide additional support to citizens who find themselves homeless, the
Consulate General has concluded a cooperation agreement with one of the hostels
in the district.
An on-site
consular reception has also been organized in Shymkent for Uzbek citizens
living in the Southern regions of Kazakhstan. During the reception, more than
60 citizens received consular services. The main appeals concerned the
registration of biometric passports, the demand for documents, citizenship
issues, as well as obtaining certificates of return to Uzbekistan.
In order to
study the working and living conditions of compatriots, representatives of the
Consulate General also visited 10 construction sites in Almaty and Shymkent.
During the meetings with more than 170 migrants, information was provided on
the opportunities created in Uzbekistan for citizens working abroad, benefits
provided for their family members, as well as new initiatives of the Migration
Agency.
Special
attention is paid to preventive work - citizens are informed of the need for
strict compliance with the migration legislation of Kazakhstan, as well as the
inadmissibility of involvement in the activities of destructive religious and
terrorist organizations.
