A giant iceberg has come very close to a village in Greenland

An iceberg of titanic size has swum dangerously close to the shore and houses in the village of Inaarsuit in Greenland, Tengrinews reports.kz with a link to the New York Post.

It is reported that for several days now this huge mass of ice has been moving towards Inaarsuit. Because of this, local authorities issued a warning to residents, and the local fish factory and store were temporarily closed.

"If this terrifying ice giant touches the shore or splits, it can cause damage and injury. Although it is unlikely that the broken pieces of ice will fall directly onto land, their fall will cause powerful waves that can cover the shore. These waves can cause damage to buildings, and in the worst case, completely wash away low-lying or already weakened buildings," island officials said.

Authorities also urged people not to approach the iceberg when traveling by boat to and from the island, and to be careful even during normal daily activities on land. tengrinews.kz.
