During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-American relations.
Particular attention is paid to the expansion of inter-parliamentary contacts, deepening dialogue in the political, trade, investment, academic, cultural and humanitarian spheres both at the level of the two states and with the states of Mississippi and Illinois, which are represented by congressmen.
The activities of the "Caucus on Uzbekistan" in the House of Representatives of the Congress, co-chaired by Congressman T. Kelly, were discussed separately. It was emphasized that the composition of the Caucus is actively expanding due to promising American legislators who strongly support the systematic development of strategic partnership with Uzbekistan.
The current dynamics of the growth of bilateral trade and investment ties was noted with satisfaction. The congressmen expressed their readiness to take measures to support the socio-economic reforms being implemented in our country.
The sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan, expressing readiness for further cooperation to prevent the difficult humanitarian situation developing in that country.
