On June 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in the city of Navoi in Uzbekistan, where he will hold talks on the implementation of joint projects. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan.

He was met at Navoi International Airport by the Governor of Navoi region Normat Tursunov, Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov and other officials.

"The Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan will visit a number of enterprises and meet with the leadership of the region to discuss the implementation of joint projects," the message says.

It is noted that this is not the first visit of R. Minnikhanov to the republic - the development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of this Russian region.

Earlier it was reported that by the end of 2023, the trade turnover between the two republics increased by 27% and amounted to $ 370 million. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan operates in Kazan, and a representative office of Tatarstan has been operating in Tashkent since 1992.
