Guterres: Violations of Syria's territorial integrity must be stopped

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an end to actions that violate Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to the American Bureau of Report, this was stated by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, answering journalists' questions about the processes in Syria at the organization's headquarters in New York.

"ISIS continues to pose a serious threat in many parts of the country. At the same time, large-scale airstrikes continue, which violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. These actions must be stopped," he stressed.

Guterres also recalled the terms of the 1974 agreement on the separation of forces, stressing that only UN peacekeepers can be in the separation zone. "The sovereignty, territorial unity and integrity of Syria must be fully restored, and all acts of aggression must be stopped immediately," he added.
