The head of the State Committee for National Security noted that in 2026 Manas will receive the status of the third city of national importance after Bishkek and Osh. He believes that renaming Jalalabad was a strategically correct decision, given its promising development and growing importance for the country.
"Some politicians said that Manas would become the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic. If we're worthy of it, why not? Time will show. But for this we need to prepare the city and the people, to be psychologically prepared. It is not easy to be the capital: a lot of money is allocated to the city, it needs to be transformed and made modern," Kamchybek Tashiev said.
According to him, construction and infrastructure works aimed at development are actively underway in the city, and Manas should become one of the most modern and developed cities in Kyrgyzstan. 24.kg.
