These
figures were released by the Ministry of Health of the DRC.
According
to the data, the epidemic mainly covers the Ituri province, where 264 out of
the 282 confirmed cases in the country have been recorded. Fifteen cases were
detected in the North Kivu province, and another three cases were identified in
the South Kivu province.
A total of
42 people have died from the virus, 238 patients continue to receive treatment,
and in two cases, the patients have fully recovered.
The
government of the DRC officially declared an Ebola epidemic on May 15. The
cause of the disease is linked to the Ebola-Bundibugyo strain, which was first
identified in Uganda in 2007, report.az reported.
