According to the press service of the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, our country presented twenty exhibits from the collection of the State Museum of Art and the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve. These are traditional Uzbek suzans, chapans and jewelry.
"It is a great honor for us to participate in the International Exhibition "Colorful Asia: Exhibition of Asian costumes", dedicated to the XIX Asian Games. The fact that it takes place in the world-famous Silk Museum is especially valuable for us, because our countries are united by at least three thousand years of history of this craft," said Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva.
"In the course of trade, including silk, close diplomatic relations were formed, cultures intertwined and technologies were exchanged, which contributed to mutual development and economic prosperity on the Great Silk Road. Perhaps it is largely due to this that our traditions and core values have become so similar. I want to thank our Chinese friends for their hospitality and interest in Uzbek culture. The history of our silk is an integral part of our common cultural heritage, and this exhibition is a great opportunity to show it," the message reads.
