I clearly understand that the documents signed during these visits, and the investments attracted on their basis, play a vital role in Uzbekistan’s progress and the prosperity of our people. Moreover, I deeply realize that this prosperity will also have a positive impact on my own life and future, just as it will for all citizens of our country.
The recent visit of our President to the United States of America was truly historic. The results achieved during the trip were so significant and impressive that it is no exaggeration to say the whole world took notice. Even U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized this during his conversation with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In particular, he highlighted with satisfaction the agreement between Uzbekistan Airways and Boeing Corporation, under which Uzbekistan will purchase 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft worth more than $8 billion. President Trump noted that this deal would create over 35,000 new jobs in the United States and even shared this on his Truth Social account.
During his visit to New York, our President also met with the leaders of more than fifty major U.S. corporations and banks. These meetings focused on expanding cooperation and exploring future opportunities. As a result, agreements and promising projects worth more than $100 billion were reached in such sectors as civil aviation, energy, innovation, mining, chemistry, finance, and many others.
Within the framework of the 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly, President Mirziyoyev held meetings with the leaders of several foreign states and international organizations, including President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan, President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, President of Albania Bajram Begaj, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The sides discussed the prospects for strengthening cooperation in various fields.
In his address at the General Debate of the UN General Assembly’s 80th anniversary session, our President put forward a number of important proposals on pressing regional and global issues. These initiatives were warmly welcomed by the participants of the international session.
All these developments filled me with pride and joy. I felt truly fortunate to have been born in such a blessed land and to be a child of such a great nation.
As a graduate of Webster University, I had the opportunity to follow the President’s meetings and speeches at the UN session directly through social media. What inspired me most was his meeting with our compatriots working and living in the United States, as well as with the “El-Yurt Umidi” Foundation scholarship students studying at prestigious American universities.
Thanks to the opportunities and conditions created for the younger generation in Uzbekistan, thousands of our young people are now pursuing higher education abroad. It is especially gratifying that more than 500 Uzbek students are currently studying in the United States alone. Honestly, I felt proud I have now made up my mind to pursue my master’s degree at one of the U.S. universities.
