On July 1, at 04:10 a.m. local time, the first flight of Royal Jordanian Airlines from Amman landed at Tashkent International Airport. According to aviation tradition, the aircraft was greeted with a water arch, and the crew with flowers. A solemn opening ceremony of the new route was also held at the airport terminal with the participation of the first passengers of the new flight, representatives of Uzbekistan Airports, Tashkent Airport and Royal Jordanian Airlines.

"Today we are pleased to open direct flights between Tashkent and Amman, bringing residents of Uzbekistan and Central Asia closer to the amazing sights of Jordan - from the ancient city of Petra and the Dead Sea to the Wadi Rum desert and many other unique places. The new route is part of the ExploRJordan program for the development of inbound tourism in Jordan. Together with our local partner Oriental Sky, we are pleased to welcome the first passengers on board," said Karim Makhlouf, Commercial Director of Royal Jordanian.

"The launch of direct flights between Tashkent and Amman is an important step in the development of the country's international route network and expanding opportunities for passengers. The new flight will not only provide convenient communication between Uzbekistan and Jordan, but will also open up additional prospects for the development of tourism, business ties and cultural exchange between our countries. We are pleased to welcome Royal Jordanian among our partner airlines and are confident that this route will be in demand among both tourists and business travelers," the press service of Uzbekistan Airports noted.

The opening of the new route creates additional opportunities for the development of tourism, business and humanitarian ties between the two countries. Now travelers from Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries will be able to visit Jordan, known for its rich historical and cultural heritage and world-famous attractions, including the ancient city of Petra, the Dead Sea and the Wadi Rum Desert. In turn, passengers from Jordan and neighboring countries received convenient access to Uzbekistan and other countries in the region, and they will also be able to explore not only the sights of the capital, but also Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and other cities.
