An underground tunnel for fuel smuggling has been identified on the border of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

    As a result of a joint special operation by the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, an international fuel and lubricants smuggling channel was eliminated through an underground tunnel.

    According to the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan, the operation was carried out under the coordination of the prosecutor's office with the participation of the AFM Department for the Turkestan region, the Department of the National Security Committee, as well as with the assistance of Uzbek law enforcement agencies.

    An underground trench with a length of about 450 meters was discovered on the border territory, through which smugglers secretly transported fuel from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.

    According to the investigation, the scheme operated for two months. The criminal group has established stable logistics, secured financing from abroad and organized regular fuel export.

    In parallel, similar operational measures were carried out in Uzbekistan. During the investigative actions, all participants in illegal activities, including citizens of Uzbekistan, were identified.

    Five people have been implicated as suspects in Kazakhstan, all of whom are citizens of the republic. The investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court.
