The ways of development of the Uzbek-Turkish multifaceted partnership are outlined

    On October 29 of this year, as part of the visit of the government delegation to Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjayev held a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations with foreign colleagues. The focus is on the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in priority sectors.

    During the meeting with the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Mush, the dynamics of the growth of mutual trade volumes was emphasized. Over the past five years, the volume of bilateral trade has doubled and amounted to $3.4 billion in 2021 and $2.4 billion in 9 months of this year. The parties agreed to intensify cooperation within the framework of diversification of the structure of trade turnover.

    There was also an exchange of views on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics. The possibility of Turkey's accession to international agreements on the transit of goods was considered, and it was also decided to intensify cooperation on the diversification of trade corridors, optimization and simplification of transit processes, and development of transport infrastructure.

    During the negotiations with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirishji, the main emphasis was placed on the application of the Turkish experience in rural development in Uzbekistan, including through the support of business initiatives and the allocation of grants for the implementation of projects in the field of livestock, poultry, milk and meat production in rural areas.

    At a meeting with the Minister of Environment, Urban Development and Climate Change Murat Kurum, an agreement was reached on the application of Turkey's experience in Uzbekistan in terms of the implementation of the social housing construction project, as well as the implementation of joint projects aimed at ensuring public health and increasing employment in the Aral Sea region.

    On the same day, with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a solemn opening ceremony of the TOGG electric car production plant took place, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

    For reference: The TOGG plant is located in the Bursa province of Turkey. $ 3.7 billion has been invested in its construction, it is planned to produce 175 thousand a year, and by 2030 - 1 million electric cars with sedan, hatchback, crossover and other bodies. The company employs more than 800 people. TOGG is also creating an infrastructure of more than 600 charging stations in 81 provinces of Turkey.
