On November 9, 2023, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva received the first deputy chairman of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association Kim Chang Keon.

It should be noted that economic exchange and investment activities have been developing between the two countries in recent years, and cooperation has reached a new level. The volume of investments from Korea to Uzbekistan exceeded $ 7 billion, about a thousand joint ventures operate in the country.

Naturally, jointly implemented new projects are equally beneficial to both Korea and Uzbekistan.

During the dialogue, the parties initially focused on the agreements reached during the working visit of the delegation headed by the Chairman of the Senate to South Korea in September this year.

In particular, a number of other issues were discussed in detail, such as the introduction of new investment projects in manufacturing industries, the creation of a solid waste recycling complex based on landfills, the establishment of joint transport and logistics companies, and support for women's education.

The sides also exchanged views on strengthening investment cooperation and attracting leading companies of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan.

Kim Chang Keon noted that South Korean businessmen are interested in investing in Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that the country has great opportunities for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and the establishment of exports of agricultural products grown in the country in addition to Korea to Japan and China.

During the constructive dialogue, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest and the implementation of investment projects.
