Tashkent is the leader among the regions, where 228 illegal pharmacies were found, of which more than half work in retail. The Samarkand region is in second place, with 182 pharmacies.
Then there are the Tashkent, Namangan, Navoi and Jizzakh regions, with over 100 pharmacies. More than half of them are retailers. The least violators were detected in Surkhandarya region (18 pharmacies).
"According to the results of the audit, 270 thousand cases of unjustified income generation totaling 11.6 billion soums were identified in these regions," the report says.
The agency also took measures to return the overpaid funds to consumers. The Competition Committee called on pharmacies not to allow unjustified price increases and not to charge consumers extra money.
