UN: More than 320 humanitarian workers have died in Gaza since October 2023

As follows from the report of the representative office of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, there are still no favorable conditions for the delivery of a sufficient number of humanitarian supplies to the enclave.

At least 322 humanitarian workers have died in the Gaza Strip since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023. This was reported by the representative office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The report also emphasizes that favorable conditions for the delivery of sufficient humanitarian supplies to Gaza are still lacking. As noted, due to the approach of winter, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the enclave, in particular food, clothing, fuel, as well as cargo for the organization of temporary accommodation facilities, is especially important.

The situation in the Middle East sharply worsened after the infiltration of militants of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, accompanied by the killing of residents of border settlements and hostage-taking. In response, Israel launched a military operation in Gaza with the aim of destroying the military and political structure of Hamas and freeing all those abducted, reports tass.ru.
