UN: The number of Internet users in the world has exceeded 6 billion

During the year, more than 240 million people connected to the global network, and now about six billion inhabitants of the planet are online – three quarters of the world's total population.

This is stated in the report of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), which records an impressive increase in the number of Internet users and at the same time points to the deepening of digital gaps, the UN press service reports.

Nevertheless, according to the organization, 2.2 billion remain outside the digital space, which underscores the scale of the task of ensuring universal and equitable digital accessibility. aa.com.tr.
