Issues of further deepening Uzbekistan's comprehensive strategic partnership with the World Bank Group in the effective promotion of the program of socio-economic reforms in New Uzbekistan were considered.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated Vice President Antonella Bassani on his appointment to a high post and wished him great success.

It was noted with satisfaction that significant progress had been made in developing partnerships in recent years. Uzbekistan is one of the largest beneficiaries of the Bank – the portfolio of projects has tripled and now exceeds $11 billion. The current Partnership Program 2026 includes priority projects worth $4 billion.

The World Bank supports the implementation of transformations in healthcare, education, agriculture, banking, energy, transport, digitalization, and other areas.

The preparation of the Country Climate and Development Report is being finalized. With the participation of the Bank, the Country Platform – an effective mechanism for coordinating functional interaction with development institutions, was launched.

Vice President Antonella Bassani highly appreciated the current level of fruitful cooperation and confirmed the commitment of the World Bank to consistent and comprehensive support of the program of irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan.

The focus is on projects to combat poverty, modernize rural infrastructure and medium-sized cities, promote the employment of women and youth, and reform health and education in accordance with the targets for the period up to 2030.

Particular attention was paid to the introduction of green energy, the implementation of land reform, programs for the integrated development of regions, and the privatization of state-owned enterprises.

Views were also exchanged on promoting regional infrastructure projects in Central Asia.
