Presidents of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are awarded the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize

    As part of the working visit to the Russian Federation, a ceremony was held at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory to present the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize to President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

    The prestigious award was presented in the presence of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin by the Chairman of the International Prize Jury, Artistic and General Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, and conductor Valery Gergiev.

    The leaders of the three countries were honored with the award for their significant personal contributions to strengthening peace and security in Central Asia.

    The jury decision notes that on March 31, 2025, in the city of Khujand, the heads of the three states signed the Treaty on the Junction Point of State Borders and the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship, thereby making a substantial contribution to ensuring universal and equal security based on the supremacy of international law, as well as to strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation among peoples.

    It was noted that the awarded prize symbolizes a commitment to the ideals of humanism and serves as recognition of the shared contribution to shaping Central Asia as a space of peace, prosperity, and creativity. It was emphasized that the opening of a new chapter in relations among the brotherly nations of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan became possible thanks to the political will and the peoples’ aspirations for trust and good-neighborly relations.
