According to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, systematic work continues to diversify migration flows and expand the geography of labor migration for citizens of Uzbekistan. Spain is considered one of the promising destinations in this regard.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed current consular issues, the simplification of visa procedures, and the prospects for developing cooperation in the field of labor migration.

Within the framework of the meeting, views were exchanged with the Spanish side regarding the signing of an Intergovernmental Agreement on Mobility and Migration, as well as the launch of an experimental project to attract labor migrants from Uzbekistan to the agricultural and construction sectors.

Furthermore, a proposal was made to consider the possibility of including Uzbekistan in the organized recruitment system for foreign workers (GECCO) for employment in Spain.

The parties expressed their readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation and coordination between the relevant agencies of Uzbekistan and Spain. The prospects for future cooperation, including in the field of migration, were confirmed.
