Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan Presidents discuss issues of further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance

    On January 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

    Presidents considered the current aspects of the bilateral agenda and regional interaction.

    The current dynamics of the development of political relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the increase in the volume of trade and strengthening cooperation, the intensification of interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges were noted with satisfaction.

    The main attention was paid to the expansion of practical cooperation, including the promotion of joint projects in trade and logistics, mechanical engineering, energy, agriculture, chemistry and pharmaceuticals, textile and food industries, and other priority areas.

    The President of Uzbekistan expressed support for the measures taken by the President of Kazakhstan to stabilize the situation in the country.

    Views were also exchanged on ensuring regional security. The schedule of the upcoming high-level meetings was considered.

    The conversation took place in a traditionally open, businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
