Negotiations between Uzbekistan and Russian delegations take place in an expanded format

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin continued negotiations in an expanded format with the participation of official delegations of the two countries.

Substantial discussion was held on issues of further developing and deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, primarily in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The current highest level and special nature of bilateral relations, covering all areas of interstate interaction, were noted with satisfaction.

“Your state visit can rightfully be called historical. It marks the beginning of a new milestone in comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between our countries”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.

During the talks, the parties agreed to continue intensive contact with parliaments, governments, ministries, agencies, regions, the public, experts, and business circles.

To achieve this, the full capabilities of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government and the Intergovernmental Commission will be used. The following meetings will be held before the end of this year.

The need to continue regular political consultations and close interaction within international and regional structures, including the UN, CIS, SCO, and other multilateral platforms, was also noted.

The stable dynamics of mutual trade turnover were noted with satisfaction. Over the past seven years, it has increased 2.5 times. The parties agreed on a new target: to reach trade volumes of $30 billion in the near future.

To help achieve this goal, a full-fledged trade mission of Uzbekistan in Russia will be launched.

For the current summit, new industrial cooperation projects worth over $20 billion have been developed in energy, metallurgy, petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, mining, agriculture, logistics, pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, and many other areas.

To promote such projects, a joint investment platform is being launched.

In the energy sector, agreements were reached on modernizing the gas transportation system, increasing the volume of gas supplies and oil and petroleum products, and implementing hydrocarbon processing projects.

In addition, during the visit, agreements will be signed on implementing a project to build a low-power nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan.

The growing cooperation between regions was emphasized. Last week, the leaders of all regions of Uzbekistan visited Russia. Today, under the chairmanship of the heads of state, the first meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia will be held.

Several essential areas were also considered, including food security, projects in innovation, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and migration.

Active exchanges will continue in culture, art, science, healthcare, tourism, youth, and sports.

The parties welcomed the agreements on opening branches of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, brief reports by delegation members were heard, with specific proposals in various areas of practical interaction.

Following the talks, the heads of state instructed to adopt roadmaps for each area with implementation mechanisms.
