Signing a memorandum of cooperation between the supreme audit institutions of Uzbekistan and Türkiye

    160 years have passed since the establishment of the supreme audit institution (SAI) of the Republic of Türkiye – the Court of Accounts. At the invitation of the Turkish side, the first deputy chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan B.Turabov participated in the events marking this historical anniversary.

    The official ceremony in Ankara was attended by H.E. President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In his speech, the President characterized the Court of Accounts as one of the pillars of the rule of law, playing an important role in the Turkish public administration system.

    Within the framework of this event, a series of meetings and negotiations were held between the SAIs of Uzbekistan and Türkiye. Given that interstate relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye have been upgraded to strategic partnership over recent years, the parties noted that it was the right time to expand their cooperation format.

    During the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Accounts and Turkish Court of Accounts. The parties have reached agreements on the exchange of experience in the field of methodology and procedures of independent external audit and state financial control, cooperation in personnel training and implementation of joint research projects, arrangement of conferences and training seminars over issues of mutual interest.

    Throughout the event, Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Accounts held a series of meetings with representatives of the SAIs of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Portugal. The prospects for cooperation with each country were outlined based on their national experience in the area of public audit and its contribution to international organizations.

    The Ankara meetings were held in a warm and friendly environment.
