During the ceremony, the President of Greece sincerely congratulated the new ambassadors and wished them success in their work. He also expressed the hope that they would make a worthy contribution to the development of bilateral and multilateral relations, the Dunyo news agency reports.

During a brief bilateral conversation after the award ceremony, the Greek President noted that in the context of the escalating geopolitical confrontation in the world, the balanced diplomacy of the Uzbek leadership makes an important contribution to strengthening regional stability and international trust.

The Head of State also noted that bilateral relations with Uzbekistan have reached a new level: new opportunities are being created for further expansion of political, economic and cultural ties between our countries.

Since November 2023, Abat Fayzullayev has been the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Italy and Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Rome (FAO, UNFCCC, UNODC).

He has been the Ambassador to Cyprus since December 2024, the Ambassador to Malta since February 2025, and the Ambassador to San Marino since March this year.
