It should be noted that the high-level dialogue, which has become regular in recent years, has played an important role in bringing bilateral relations to a qualitatively and meaningfully new level.

In particular, the state visits of the Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to our country on June 5-6 this year and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Doha on October 1-2 this year marked the beginning of a new stage in relations between the two countries.

The meeting discussed broad areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar, as well as prospects for further strengthening inter-parliamentary ties.

The volume of mutual trade and investment between the two countries is increasing, major joint projects are being prepared and implemented. The parties noted that despite this, economic indicators, in particular, the volume of mutual trade, do not fully reflect the capabilities of states and the existing potential and opportunities are sufficient to increase it significantly.

In this regard, it was stressed that it is necessary to intensify inter-parliamentary ties and bring them to a new level, combining the joint efforts of the two states.

As a practical mechanism for this, it is proposed to ensure the regularity of mutual visits, to develop and approve a draft of an appropriate document on interparliamentary cooperation as soon as possible.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the development of mutual dialogue within the framework of various international organizations and parliamentary structures.
