Thus, the President of the Senate held a meeting with the Chairman of the Interparliamentary Union, Tulia Exxon, and with the Secretary General of the Interparliamentary Union, Martin Chungong.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed in detail such issues as Uzbekistan's ongoing cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, prospects for further cooperation, preparations for the 150th anniversary Assembly to be held in Tashkent in April 2025, as well as the establishment of parliamentary control over the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals and the effective work of a special commission in this area.
Tanzila Narbayeva also held a meeting with the Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova.
At the same time, an exchange of views took place on the role of parliament in creating a social protection system, reducing poverty and developing an inclusive and creative economy in the country.
During the dialogue, the current state of cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, plans and tasks for the future were discussed.
In particular, attention was focused on the issues of further strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in the field of ecology and climate change, as well as the exchange of experience in this area.
