Shodlik and Ahillik makhallas in this region have suffered from the disaster. More than 11 thousand people were evacuated from here to the city of Gulistan, as well as to Jizzakh region’s Mirzachul and Dustlik districts. 13,397 hectares of cotton, grain and melon crops were damaged in the district as a result of the disaster.
The Head of the state instructed responsible officials to study each family’s needs, repair housing and return families to homes with normal conditions.
A meeting with representatives of the older generation, the makhalla and general public was held in Mirzaabad district.
This district is one of the most affected by flooding. About 15 thousand people, living in the communities Navbakhor, Haqiqat, Bahoriston and Yuldoshobod makhallas, were placed in Yangiobod makhalla and the city of Yangiyul. 7,084 hectares of agricultural land were damaged.
The Head of the state noted the need for carrying out construction and repair activities taking into account people’s opinion, visiting dehkans and farmers, and solving their problems.
Residents thanked the President for being by their side in this difficult situation, as well as for the large-scale activities carried out in a short time and normalization of life.
Issues of re-development of agricultural land, repair of roads and bridges were also discussed with government officials and responsible managers, appropriate measures were identified.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has returned to Tashkent.
