Promising directions for the development of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan are considered

    On April 24 of this year, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Uzbekistan Ahmed Faruk.

    The current state and new promising directions for the development of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan are considered.

    Additional opportunities to expand the volume of mutual trade between the two countries were discussed. In this context, the commitment to further enhance cooperation within the framework of joint measures to reach a trade turnover of $1 billion in the coming years was confirmed.

    Among the main tasks for the future is the holding of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission between Uzbekistan and Pakistan by the end of 2024 and the organization of the exhibition "Made in Uzbekistan" within its framework. In turn, the exhibition "Made in Pakistan" is scheduled to be held in Tashkent in June this year.

    Following the meeting, measures were also agreed to intensify joint work on the development of cooperation in the investment and transport sectors.
