The fire broke out at a firecracker manufacturing enterprise in the village
of Kubrinsk. As a result of the emergency, nine nearby multi-story residential
buildings were damaged, reported by Kazinform.
Representatives of emergency services told the agency that windows of the
buildings were mostly broken, and the roof of another house was damaged.
According to TASS, a violation related to electrical wiring had previously
been detected at the enterprise. The Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry
of Emergency Situations for the Yaroslavl region last inspected the
manufacturing enterprise on November 26, 2024. At that time, an inspector
issued a warning regarding electrical wiring with a damaged insulation layer.
The enterprise belongs to a high-risk category. According to Russian
legislation, scheduled inspections at such facilities cannot be conducted more
than once every three years.
The company owning the manufacturing enterprise was registered in the city
of Mineralnye Vody in 2025. According to open-source data, its main business
activity is the wholesale trade of industrial chemical products.
